Sometimes referred to as the second holy land, Turkey is a country full of exciting destinations. The country has so much history, culture and art to offer visitors that it is hard to believe. There are many ways that one could explore this ancient country and culture, but probably the best way is through Turkish sail boat tours.

These tours can last for a few hours or for several days. Day trips will often include one or two cities and depending on the length of the trip may or may not include a meal. Extended trips may accommodate guests with on-board sleeping quarters. If on-board sleeping quarters are not provided, then the tour company will make arrangements at the best possible hotels. Prior to purchasing Turkish sail boat tours, travelers will need to choose between several options. Most Turkish sail boat tour companies will offer a Jewish heritage, archeological, biblical and cultural tours. These tours will allow travelers to walk in the footsteps of Paul, visit the house of Mary, see the ruins of Ephesus the Ancient City and the seven churches of Asia Minor. Other religious sites that may be seen include Tarsus, Antioch, Iconium, Ephesus, Smyrna and Nicea. Travelers that choose a Jewish themed tour will have the opportunity to visit some local synagogues such as Neve Shalom and Askenazy Synagogue. Other sites that may be seen include the Galata tower built by the Genoese in 1303. If you choose a cultural Turkish sail boat tour, then you may see the famous Sunken City with cut-rock cells, stairway walls and chambers that are all visible under the sea. The church of St. Nicholas (Santa Claus) may also be on the agenda for a cultural tour. Many tours will allow travelers the opportunity to visit with locals and possibly visit their homes therefore allowing the true richness of the Turkish culture to come alive.

Prices of tours may or may not include meals, tips, and extra activities. If meals and activities are not included in the price of the tour, these items can be purchased separately. Also, the tour price will vary depending on the quality of accommodations that you may choose. Prior to purchasing a tour, you will need to inquire as to what is and is not included in the total price for a Turkish sail boat tour.

While on a Turkish sail boat tour, you will experience unimagined environmental diversity, history, culture, art and beliefs. A Turkish sail boat tour is a leisurely way to explore all that Turkey’s exceptional heritage has to offer.
